Many readers wrote in to the publisher and did receive a letter, but instead of an extra scene, the letter detailed the obviously fictitious legal problems that Goldman and his publishers encountered with the Morgenstern estate and its lawyer, Kermit Shog.
It has "fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles …" And so it does, and from then on we are in the world of Buttercup and Westley, of Prince Humperdinck and the Dread Pirate Roberts, of Vizzini, Fezzik and Inigo Montoya.
The two names are often interchangeable. Buttercup jumps down and Fezzik catches her. Westley reaches Buttercup before she commits suicide. The grandfather replies, "As you wish. Humperdinck pretends to give in.
Inigo swore revenge and for 20 years has sought out that six-fingered man. Its extras are the theatrical trailer and text filmographies. A mysterious masked man in black pursues them and bests the three kidnappers by skill, strength and wit in turn.

In NovemberDisney Theatrical announced that it will be staging a new stage musical version, based on the novel and film screenplay.
